Blackwell Consulting Group was founded by former SC State Resentative Bart Blackwell to help manufacturers, small businesses, industry, and tech start-ups navigate the complexities of South Carolina’s state government.
The firm provides bipartisan lobbying, legislative monitoring and reporting, and general consulting to help its clients succeed in South Carolina by leveraging the relationships and knowledge acquired from years of legislative service.
Bart retired from the South Carolina House of Representatives in 2024 after serving four terms. During his years of service, he served on the House 3M (medical, military, public and municipal affairs), Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs, Judiciary, and Labor, Commerce and Industry (LCI) standing committees. In his last term he was Chairman of the Business and Commerce subcommittee of LCI.
As a part-time legislator and full-time manufacturing professional, Bart brings over three decades of manufacturing leadership to include 27 years as owner of a contract manufacturer providing machined and fabricated components to the automotive, pharmaceutical, consumer products, defense, nuclear, textile, and golf industries.
He was awarded two patents for the design and development of an innovative medical device and is a former Air Force officer and aviator.
With his background in business, politics, and military service, Bart combines a powerful perspective with a proven record of advocacy for his clients at the State House.
